Customer reviews

George took time at the start of the project to understand our requirements. He was speedy in submitting his quote and agreed a start date which his team met despite the impact of a heatwave. Wayne, Craig and Mark worked wonders in completing the project to schedule despite the 35 degree plus temperatures. Thoroughly professional and a pleasure to have working in our home.

Excellent quality of work. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We would definitely use them again and recommend them.

We have used George and team several times for interior and exterior decoration. They are a pleasure to deal with both when scoping and on site. The team are incredibly polite, punctual, tidy and work is to a high standard. Would recommend to anyone.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. These guys are absolutely amazing – professional, reliable, and genuinely the best at what they do. Wayne came to rescue us after some poorly finished work elsewhere, and in just one day he achieved more than had been done in three. He was one of the hardest-working and tidiest tradespeople I’ve ever seen. George, who owns the company, was also a pleasure to deal with and made organising a very last-minute job incredibly easy. We will definitely be using them for all our decorating going forward and honestly couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

Reliable and professional - happy with the outcome

Brilliant! I cannot praise Hawkes Decor enough! Every member of the team was extremely friendly and professional throughout, from Mike the office manager (who responded promptly to my request) to George (who provided a fair & honest quote and expertly managed the job) to Craig and Bernard (who skilfully completed the work to an exceptionally high standard). My flat received a spectacular facelift throughout! I would definitely recommend Hawkes Decor!

George is a master of his trade. All we had to do was choose the colours we wanted and he did the rest including deciding on the types of paint needed. We had the whole house painted and the Hawkes team met all expectations. They were friendly, professional, tidy and finished the job within the agreed timeframe. Very pleased.

George was the only decorator to respond to a request to quote, and even came to my house on the same day to look at the work and provide a quote! Due to bad weather the team couldn’t start on the day planned, which wasn’t a problem for us, but George kept me informed and in contact, and ensured that the work was completed within the same time frame, even when we extended the scope! The team were punctual, tidy, friendly, very funny and very considerate and courteous. I can’t recommend them enough and wouldn’t hesitate to use them in the future. Thanks again George and Team!

Hawkes pained our external walls, soffits and metal windows. The team were professional and helpful, and we are very pleased with the results. Would definitely use them again.

Very professional and completed the work to a good standard. Will use again.

I would fully recommend Hawkes Decor to anyone. George was extremely helpful from first contact and was always easily reachable before the works began and throughout the job. We had all external walls stabilised and then painted, as well as all timber fascia’s. The guys on the job were great and extremely professional. We are very happy with the finished job and will 100% use Hawkes Decor in the future!

Very pleased with the work done. Would definitely recommend the service.

George and his team did an amazing job; from meeting us to quote, right through to checking for snags and fixing final bits, they were thorough, polite, professional, helpful and had very useful advice. They saved us a lot of money on paint as well! I would definitely use the company again and would recommend them to anyone.

Really professional, punctual and great attention to detail. George and his team fill you with confidence and clearly take great pride in their work. We used them to repaint all our hallways and kitchen including woodwork and the end result was fantastic

The team are absolutely fantastic. Polite, professional and most importantly produce excellent results. Would highly recommend.

George did an excellent job tidying up poor painting that someone had done. He is a perfectionist at what he does. I would highly recommend him.

Where do I start, firstly George and his boys were in on the job 5 mins after I completed on the purchase. A 3 bed house flipped in 2 days top to bottom walls ceilings woodwork included…..pure class. I wanted to move in 3 days after the completion date and the guys didn’t let me down. Amazing job and family have been round already and commented how fresh the decorating looks. Obviously speed was important but no corners were cut and the team should take a lot of credit for the amazing work they’ve produced here. Lovely bunch of lads and very fairly priced. I always get 3 quotes and this one stood up nicely. Would I recommend Hawkes Decor? Too right I would, speedy, precise, nicely priced, pleasant and 10 out 10 from me. My lovely family and I will now enjoy our lovely new home which has started with a touch of class from George and his lads @ Hawkes Decor. Emlyn Hill.

Absolutely blown away by the Hawkes Decor team! Led by George, the guys did an incredible job giving our flat a much-needed facelift. From the day I contacted George till the day of the work finished, our experience was nothing less than perfect. George is responsive, communicative and honest; he will tell you if something is not worth doing or if some things might roll into the last day. We couldn't find a particular shade so a door wasn't done but George said he would come and paint it for free if ever we found the colour! The quality of work is flawless, we couldn't be happier! They sanded walls right down to the plaster and applied good quality paint. The ceiling, radiators, woodwork, everything is perfectly painted. They left the flat neat and tidy each evening and our furniture and carpet looked untouched. Not a drop of paint where it shouldn't be! I cannot recommend this company enough. Contact George and get him on your next project, you will not be disappointed.

George and this team, specifically Mark & Kent, did a great job. Very professional, diligent and skillful, they come very highly recommended.

Fantastic experience working with George and his team. Arrived on time each morning. Beautiful, meticulous painting work and preparation. Tidy and clean each day. Very accommodating to fit in with changes around schedule. George arrived daily to project manage and check no concerns. Highly recommend.

If I could I would award 6 stars. This was not a straightforward decorating job. The house had been replumbed and rewired and all rooms needed stripping back and making good, everything needed redecorating and to a tight timescale. Not only that but they needed to fit in with all rooms having flooring layed at the same time. They started @ 7:30 the next day with a team of four and worked through the weekend to get as much done before the flooring started. Despite working to a fixed price, all workmen were conscientious and addressed the problems discovered during prep. They finished ahead of schedule allowing us to move in earlier than expected. It seemed a little on the expensive side at the beginning but was well worth it. They more than delivered on what they committed to.

George, is very skilled and knowledgeable with his trade. He gave us superb, clear and honest advice. He has great vision and he generously shared it with us. DEFINITELY recommend him and his team!!!

George leads a friendly and professional team who attended to my small renovation. They advised me on the best products to use and undercoats and painted woodwork, painted walls and sanded and painted newly installed plaster detail on the ceiling. They quoted fairly and the work is of an excellent standard. I would highly recommend them for any decorating work as they care for the project as if it’s their own.

The guys were professional, approachable and did a fantastic job. The finished result is great, and we would definitely highly recommend them for future decorating works.

Very professional and very helpful in obtaining paint I didn’t manage to get in time. Treated the place like it was their own home. Highly recommend.

This is the 3rd time we have used Hawkes Decor since moving into our current home. On each occasion the painting & decorating services provided by George and his team have been professionally delivered to an impressively high standard, and we have been delighted with the work they have done. George’s team work efficiently, with good humour and consideration for the daily round. We have no hesitation in recommending them to future customers.

Very nice and professional. Very good work. our kid's room looks amazing now. Great price too. We'll definitely use them again for our next project!

Did a fantastic job on the paintwork of our Victorian terrace house, would highly recommend George and his team

Showed up on time, early in fact. Worked and communicated well. Did a great job. I would recommend to anyone and will certainly hire again.

Absolutely fantastic team led by George. A big thank you to George, Spike, Roger, Mark, Craig and Wayne and Dave. I cannot recommend these guys enough. We had a super tight timeline with our house purchase and move, and they did everything to get it done in time, with great quality and care. I’ll definitely be going back to Hawkes for our next job. Thanks again George!

The entire process was fantastic. From the initial consult, quote and through to the end of the job. The work was completed faster than original quoted and the standard is excellent. I couldn't be happier and would use the Hawkes Decor team again without hesitation.

I highly recommend George and his team at Hawkes Decor. They were professional, reliable, and trustworthy throughout the whole process. They redecorated our kitchen, living room, WC & hallway upstairs & down. The finish is excellent, and they were more than happy to accommodate a last-minute colour change! The patterned wallpaper has also been installed well & looks great. The team are friendly, tidy, and efficient. We will definitely use them again!

The whole team were fantastic. From the initial contact George was easy to work with and attentive making sure everything was being done to a high standard and in line with the agreed budget. Mark and Kent were great, punctual, polite, thorough and really helpful. They did everything we asked for in a clean and tidy way for a reasonable price. Would absolutely recommend

Very well organised team. Andrew, Mark and Ronnie did a great finish on our house. Clean, tidy and very impressed with the dust free extractor systems. Was that bit extra to other quotes but purely the set up was remarkable. Thank you

Had several jobs down with these guys at a number of properties! Always deliver what they say and price is always fair!

Great service all round from quoting the work through to delivery. Great quality finish and very quick too. I would recommend

Excellent job painting my kitchen. Punctual, polite and tidy.

Punctual, polite & very tidy. Very pleased with the exterior painting, looks great! Thank you

Excellent company to deal with. Great communication, very helpful, lots of good advice. They use quality paint and strive for the best finish achievable. Neat and tidy, they work swiftly and efficiently. Modern company that values their clients.

George and his team proved themselves to be professional, courteous and human. They completed the work earlier than scheduled and to a high standard. They demonstrated patience and flexibility with us, regarding colour schemes and we would definitely use them again and recommend to others.

George and his team did our staircases last year and this week we had them back to do all the hallways and landings. The job is FANTASTIC and I have (and will) recommend them to anyone that needs any decorating done. I could have done the job myself but would have taken weeks of my spare time to achieve what they did in only 2 days….. really they are worth the money to get the team in. They protect your house, work all day and clean up at the end of everyday (you wouldn’t think they had been there, no mess whatsoever) George is a true gent and not out to make money off you. If you don’t need something done he will tell you (we were going to have the ceilings done but he said they didn’t need doing and we wouldn’t notice the difference). Overall completely satisfied and will get them back whenever we need anything else done.

Very polite, friendly, professional, family business, it’s just me and my mother and they made us feel very comfortable and couldn’t do enough to accommodate us, I would highly recommend them.

Prompt response. Started the work on date agreed. Finished within the agreed timeline. Painted inside doors, bathroom and staircase. A little more expensive than the other quotes I received but worth the extra spend for the good quality of work. Very happy and would use them again.

Great workmanship , very helpful and knowledgeable. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Did a good job of the work initially. However they never returned to finish the kitchen, despite confirmation of a return date, they didn’t show up. So overall a disappointing service.

We were delighted with the Hawkes Decor team. George and his team couldn’t have been more helpful and professional. So pleased that we found them. They were incredibly hard working, knowledgeable and good at their job!

We came across Hawkes when in the need to renovate our bathroom which had become a problem area in our property as well as our hallway. Hawkes was not the first company we contacted but they soon left an impression that will put them to the top our list here on out. We were greeted very politely and punctually during the initial quote process where George (MD) walked through the property and instantly put our mind to ease with his attitude and evident experience working in these spaces. We were so impressed that we asked Hawkes to return to re-qoute additional works which we later took on. George was brilliant in understanding our brief and the aesthetic we wanted. During the process, George and his team were punctual, productive and clean. There is an evident pride in their workmanship with consistent contact kept throughout. A refreshing aspect was the desire to be notified of our finds and snags, something not common amongst trade. We can’t recommend Hawkes enough

I used George Hawkes when my original decorators disappeared leaving the decorating half finished. George’s team came in and did a marvellous job finishing everything in time for my new carpet to be laid and furniture delivered. I was really pleased with the result.

Great experience ,highly recommend this family run businees. Couldn’t fault any of their workmanship. Dust was kept to a minimum with the system they used. Would most defiantly use again. Whole house and redecoration was completed on time.

George and his team was fantastic to work with. Great communication as we had some damp problems . I like that they came up with solutions to the problems we had and talked us through the process . They went over and beyond for us. Clean , tidy and trustworthy. Great job very happy. Thanks George and his team .

Had 3 rooms painted, one of which had a built in wardrobe removed and required a lot of work and it all came out great - would recommend

I cannot thank George and his staff from Hawkes Decor for an excellent job on decorating my entire flat they were very professional, polite, on timetidy and nothing was to much trouble for them I am very happy with the work and fully recommend them.

This is the 3rd time George and his team have painted one of my houses, this time it was external and internal decoration, and once again a 10/10 in all areas. Highly recommend these guys.

I would defiantly recommend this team of highly skilled decorators, they were friendly, punctual showed great attention to detail, and always tidied up after themselves. I am very happy with their work and the end result.

George and his team did an excellent job on painting my house, would use them again

Fantastic job at repainting my living room and bedrooms. Colour is perfect and they were very professional. I was really impressed with their attention to detail. Highly recommend :) thanks again

Great work, Andrew, George and team have decorated our full interior of our property. Can’t thank you all enough Will be certain to recommend without hesitating. Family run business that is still operating after many years, saved us a small fortune with colour matching, and also products we’ve only ever used but reassured us the quality would be the same. Great work

Excellent work as usual from Terry, Andy and the team, this was the 3rd job they’ve done for us and they were as professional and exacting as always.

The job was all of a two bed flat

George and the lads did an excellent job redecorating the house and the new annex, they were quick and thorough, and it was a genuine pleasure having Terry and Andy in the house. Unreservedly recommend them. The few issues and variations that arose were dealt with quickly and effectively, with clear and accurate communication. George was very straightforward to deal with and did everything that was agreed and more. It’s encouraging that there are still people of this calibre to be found.

The guys were polite, punctual and carried out the job to an excellent standard. Will use again

Very pleased with the work carried out on my new extension,I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a reliable firm to do the job.

When finally able to start due to being busy, George's team did a great job.

George and everyone at Hawke's decor was polite and responsive from the first interaction. They were free with the advice and managed to get our new house entirely re-decorated in a few weeks even in Mid December. They made reccomendations along the way but were also more than happy to defer to any of our preferences. Would strongly reccomend Hawke's to anyone looking for a top quality decorating firm and will be using them again when the need arises.

Hawkes decor were a pleasure to have in my property, they were excellent from start to finish, it was a very tight time schedule and it was done the day before I moved back in. Andy, george, and del made sure that they carried the work out to a very high standard. There were extras that was also added on and was charged no extra as they rest assured me that it could still be completed in the time frame. Would highly recommend Hawkes decor to all my friends and family! All the best guys on future projects

Really good job start to finish. Turned up when we agreed left when I needed. Spot on to what we agreed. Very happy

I have contacted George on such a short notice as our agreed contractor backed up last minute. He took a rabbit out of hat and finished painting entire house in few days with a big team starting around 06.30 in the morning. He never said no to any adhoc requests and he was always very accommodating. His work quality and ethic is unforeseen. His rates were higher than average but was worth the outcome. I definitely recommend his company.

Outstanding work , Goergie has done Work inside and outside of my mothers property and have various rooms in my property recommend 100% top quality work carried out throughout happy to help in anyway excellent

Hawkes decor were very efficient, Andrew and Terry were excellent from start to finish. When they initially started we had Andy to be down to decorate three bedrooms as we see progression we asked them to do the remainder of our property they had many years in the decorating trade and had every bit of knowledge in regards to colour scheming. Highly recommend

Terry & Andy have painted my entire flat and they were simply outstanding. The flow of communication prior and during the project was effortless. The work was done in brilliantly with an eye to details and within the agreed timescales. They've cut and filled cracks in my walls and even helped me remove a kitchen cabinet and sort out the wall behind it. I was astonished by how seriously they take cleanness into account, cleaning after themselves every single day. Hawkes Decor team are very approachable and friendly. I fully recommend Hawkes Decor for your decorating work, you will not be disappointed.
